Abby Smith – Shorewoman of the Week
Sophomore volleyball player Abby Smith (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) is this week’s Shorewoman of the Week. Smith averaged 4.00 kills and 2.83 digs per set in a 2-0 week for the Shorewomen.
Smith pounded down 14 kills and added eight digs in a 25-17, 25-9, 25-19, victory over Immaculata on Tuesday. She then added 10 kills, nine digs, and three aces in a 25-13, 25-23, 25-20, win at Alvernia Friday. She was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week yesterday.
Nathaniel Neuland – Shoreman of the Week
Sophomore trap and skeet student-athlete Nathaniel Neuland (Thurmont, Md./Tuscarora) is this week’s Shoreman of the Week. Neuland finished fourth overall among 39 competitors at Battle of the Bay, helping WCTS to a second-place finish in the final team standings.
Neuland was finished among the leaders in all three discplines, placing fifth in Skeet with 89 broken targets, fifth in Trap with 92, and tied for sixth in Sporting Clays with 79. WCTS was the only team to finish in the top two of the team standings for all three discplines, winning Skeet and taking second in both Trap and Sporting Clays.
