CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Washington College head men’s basketball coach Aaron Goodman has announced the addition of Mike Durilla as a new assistant coach for the team. Durilla is a 2013 graduate of the College and served as the head manager of the team during his undergraduate days.
Since his graduation, Durilla had served as the head freshman boys basketball and assistant varsity boys basketball coach at Donovan Catholic High School in Toms River, N.J. As freshman head coach, he accrued 51 victories. In addition to being responsible for all aspects of the freshman team, he assisted with varsity practices, games, statistics, and scouting.
For the past seven summers, Durilla has also served as a head coach of the Red Dragons, part of the Global Squad, based in Pottstown, Pa. He coached players from five different continents and over 20 countries. He also served as a runner for Hoop Group Elite in Reading, Pa., during the summer of 2013.
As team manager of the Shoremen, Durilla managed the team’s social media accounts, served as the team’s video coordinator, assisted with fundraising, and aided in all day-to-day operations of the program.
Durilla earned a B.A. in History from Washington College in 2013 and a M.A. in History from Monmounth University in 2018.
