Allison Gallagher – Shorewoman of the Week
Sophomore swimmer Allison Gallagher (Saunderstown, R.I./Exeter-West Greenwich Regional) is this week’s Shorewoman of the Week. Gallagher grabbed a second-place finish in the Shorewomen’s 156-90 loss to Gettysburg Saturday.
Gallagher was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:05.00 for the Shorewomen’s first individual second-place finish of the meet. The time was also the Shorewomen’s fastest in the 100 backstroke thus far this season.
Sean Curry – Shoreman of the Week
Freshman rower Sean Curry (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) is this week’s Shoreman of the Week. Curry stroked the novice eight and novice four to impressive finishes at the Head of the Hooch Saturday.
The novice eight’s fifth-place time was 15:25.794. The men’s college and club novice eight field was comprised of 32 crews, all but three of which were from Division I schools. The novice four’s sixth-place time was 17:18.101. The Shoremen were one of just six crews not from a Division I school in the 33-crew field of the men’s college and club novice four. In both races, the Shoremen were the fastest crew from a non-Division I school.
Curry also sat in the bow seat of the Shoremen’s entry in the men’s championship four Saturday, which finished 10th of 10 crews in 16:37.337.
