Holiday Gingerbread House Display
December 8, 2018
Bank Main Lobby-“The Sweet Shoppe”
100 Spring Ave., Chestertown, MD
DO YOU LOVE TO DECORATE FOR THE HOLIDAYS?
LOOKING FOR A FUN HOLIDAY ACTIVITY TO SHARE WITH A GROUP OR A SPECIAL CHILD?
Or
DO YOU JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN WITH FOOD???
The Peoples Bank will be participating in “A Dickens of a Christmas”, and will be reprising their old fashioned candy store in the lobby of their main office location on Spring Ave., from 10 AM – 3 PM on December 8, 2018. To really make this a “sweet” event, The Bank will display the efforts of local “food artisans” and “edible building engineers” with a display of Gingerbread Houses! We are looking for “house building teams” to create holiday mansions that inspire holiday spirit and holiday appetites! All team efforts will be welcome and no level of expertise is needed! Just have fun with the “creating” and we will make sure that your creation is part of the “sweetest” experience of the “A Dickens of a Christmas” festival!
Guidelines:
1. Because it will be moved several times, your Gingerbread House can be made of sturdy materials such as plastic or wood but all visible areas must be made of edible materials. (You CAN use actual gingerbread.)
2. Your entire Gingerbread House “tableau” (house, fencing, trees, etc.) must be contained on a ridged board or baking sheet no larger than 30” x 30”. If you have loose items (like “snow”), please use a base that has a small rim, similar to a baking sheet. Don’t forget to cover or decorate your base!
3. Your Gingerbread House cannot exceed 3 stories high.
4. Your Gingerbread House should be dropped off at a teller window in our main office, no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, December 7th for our display on December 8th. We will create a display sign for your creation, so tell us a little about your Gingerbread House.
5. You can pick up your Gingerbread House (so you can display it in your own home) on Monday, Dec. 10th between the hours of 9 AM – 3 PM, or call us at 410-778-3500 to arrange another pickup time.
Call Henrietta or Don at 410-778-3500 or email us at hmaloney@pbkc.com or ddunlap@pbkc.com and let us know to expect your unique Gingerbread House creation, so we can reserve your display space!
