Taylor Samuels – Shorewoman of the Week
Senior women’s basketball player Taylor Samuels (Elkton, Md./Sanford School [Del.]) is this week’s Shorewoman of the Week. In a 2-0 week for the Shorewomen, she averaged 14 points per game and pulled down 6.5 rebounds a game.
In a 77-76 upset win over #22 Gettysburg on Saturday, she scored a career-best 19 points as she went 11-for-11 from the free throw line as she was the first WC player to make at least 11 free throws since 2013. On Wednesday in a 64-63 victory over Ursinus, she pulled down a personal-high 10 rebounds.
This is Samuels’ third career Shorewoman of the Week honor
Alec Lewis – Shoreman of the Week
Senior men’s basketball player Alec Lewis (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) is this week’s Shoreman of the Week as he averaged 17.5 points per game in a pair of contests. Lewis scored a team-best 20 points in his home career finale in the Shoremen’s 79-70 victory over visiting Gettysburg on Saturday. On Wednesday versus Ursinus, the senior netted 15 points.
This is Lewis’ fifth career Shoreman of the Week honor.
