Teresa Draves – Shorewoman of the Week
Sophomore swimmer Teresa Draves (Gilberstville, Pa./Boyertown) is this week’s Shorewoman of the Week. recorded three top 10 performances and collected a pair of medals in the relays to lead the squad during the event.
Draves was part of two bronze medal winning 200 medley relay team that finished with a time of 1:51.43 and the 800 free relay team that recorded a time of 7:56.74.
Individually, Draves tied for fifth place in the the 200 individual medley as she finished with a time of 2:12.36, the fourth fastest result in program history. Draves placed sixth in the 200 breaststroke with a mark of 2:28.54, the fifth best time at Washington. She also placed seventh overall in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:45.02 after she produced an effort of 4:44.39 in the preliminaries to establish a personal-best result and is now fifth on the all-time school list.
This is Draves’ third career Shorewoman of the Week honor.
Andrew Feeley – Shoreman of the Week
Junior men’s swimmer Andrew Feeley (Baltimore, Md./Towson) is this week’s Shoreman of the Week as he became the first Shoreman to win an event three consecutive years at the Centennial Conference Championships this weekend at Gettysburg on his way to becoming the fastest swimmer in program history in 100 and 200 backstroke events.
Feeley captured gold in 200 backstroke and had an NCAA B-Cut and program record time of 1:49.06 in the preliminaries followed by his winning final time of 1:50.40. His victory in the 200 back made him the first Washington College men’s swimmer to win an event at the conference championships three years in a row. He took home bronze and set the school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.95 on Saturday just one day after securing the top time in team history in the front leg of the 400 medley relay in 51.37. The junior also took ninth in the 200 Individual Medley (1:55.01), which is good for the sixth best result in school history. In addition, his 50 freestyle time of 21.74, which he accomplished during the opening leg of the 200 free relay, is the fastest this season by a Shoreman.
This is Feeley’s fifth career Shoreman of the Week honor.
