Byrnes tallied the most strikeouts this century by a Shorewoman when she struck out 14 Immaculata hitters on Wednesday in a 5-1 win in game one. She struck the side twice and had a strikeout in every inning. On Sunday in a 12-4 win over Penn State-Altoona in Florida, she had 12 strikeouts and had one in every frame but one. She allowed just one earned run in each game as she is 3-0 on the season and the first WC softball player to open her career this century at 3-0.
