First Time Recipient of the Award
LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior August Meriot (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week in men’s tennis for the week of March 9-15 by the conference office. This is the first time Meriot has garnered the conference’s weekly award.
Meriot posted a 6-1 combined record in four matches last week, including a perfect 4-0 singles mark. In an 8-1 win over Transylvania, he won at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-3. In a 6-3 victory over Oneonta, he teamed up with Koby Bonta at No. 3 doubles for an 8-4 win, and posted a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 4 singles. Against Carthage, Meriot once again paired up with Bonta for an 8-7 (9-7) win at No. 3 doubles, before claiming a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles. The senior wrapped up his week with a 6-2, 0-6, 14-12 win at No. 4 singles versus Rhodes.

Seventeen Washington College Student-Athletes Named to Centennial Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll
Lancaster, Pa – – – Seventeen of Washington College’s winter student-athletes were named to the Centennial Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. The Shorewomen women’s swimming squad led the way with nine student-athletes who qualified for the prestigious honor.
In addition, Dallas Marshall was named the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men’s basketball and was just one of two student-athletes in his sport to be selected to the Winter Academic All-Centennial Team after earning All-Conference accolades. See Full Story
To be nominated for the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, a student must meet the following criteria: (a) a sophomore or higher in class standing; (b) cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher.
