Did You get Your Ballot Yet?
“Your Vote, Your Voice”, the non-partisan coalition of local civic groups, has issued a reminder about the June primary election.
Voters are asked to vote by mail. Those registered to vote as a member of a political party should have received a ballot in the postal mail. Anyone who has not received a ballot should call the Board of Elections. For Queen Anne’s County, call 410-758-0832; for Kent County, call 410-778-0038. Ballots must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, June 2, 2020.
The deadline to register to vote is May 27. Go to: https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/OnlineVoterRegistration/InstructionsStep1 or call the Board of Elections office listed above.
Those needing to check voter registration status may access www.elections.maryland.gov and click “Look up your Voter Info.” Those without internet access may call 1-800-222-8683.
Those unable to vote by mail may vote in-person on election day, June 2 from 7am to 8pm:
– Kent County Residents: Kent County Public Library, 408 High Street, Chestertown
– Queen Anne’s County Residents: Kent Island Fire Department, 1610 Main Street, Chester
Voters may confirm that their vote has been received by going to https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/VoterSearch.
The League of Women Voters of Kent County has published a Voters’ Guide to be available at Kent County supermarkets and other open retailers. The online Voters’ Guide is available at www.vote411.org and at https://kent-lwvmaryland.nationbuilder.com/voters_guide. Each candidate for office was given the opportunity to provide information about themselves and to respond to questions from the League. Candidate information and responses are presented unedited. Online, voters can enter their zip code and view all the races on their ballot; responses from two candidates can be viewed together allowing comparisons between candidates. Vote411.org also provides links to other important websites such as the Maryland State Board of Elections.
Every vote counts. Your Vote IS Your Voice.
