Greetings ShoreRivers supporters.
It is with both disappointment and hope for the future that we are announcing the cancellation of our two primary fundraising events this year – the Solstice Celebration in June and the Wild & Scenic Film Festival in November – so that our supporters may concentrate on the challenges facing our communities due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In these unprecedented times, we must be committed to the core things that matter the most now: supporting our neighbors’ essential needs of good health, food and shelter, and clean water and air.
ShoreRivers will remain focused on our mission for clean rivers and is committed to keeping our valuable staff in place during this economic crisis. Our agricultural team is continuing to put pollution-reducing projects in the ground; the education team is pivoting to online platforms for students and teachers; and our Riverkeepers are still conducting advocacy, enforcement, and water quality monitoring activities.
At present, we are still hoping to host our annual outdoors events, including the Ride for Clean Rivers – check our Events page for updated information.
We hope you will continue to support our mission this year in whatever way you able. More importantly, we urge our members to contribute to the many local efforts to provide healthcare and meet the basic needs of our community members during these difficult times.
We look forward to celebrating our rivers with you all, in person, when we can. Until then, please support your neighbors and enjoy the restorative power of our beautiful rivers. Thank you and stay safe and healthy.
