These two pieces of sizeable construction equipment will be appearing at the Bay Bridge over the next week or so. They will be located in a work zone behind barrier on the western shore just prior to the bridge spans. No lanes of traffic on the bridge will be impacted beyond the routine weekday, off-peak lane closures (9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. dependent on weather and traffic volumes.).
Crews will begin work installing foundations for new overhead lane signal gantries for the eastbound bridge approach. This is part of the ongoing project that will feature the reconfiguration of travel lanes to match the existing roadway that is expected to be completed in the fall of 2022.
MDTA reminds motorists to avoid distractions, follow posted speed limits, obey all signs and traffic control devices. It’s crucial to your safety and the safety of workers.
