Mugele said, “Tracey Lumpkin has shared with me that she believes she was meant to work at Kent School. She had already made the decision to move to Worton in June to be closer to family on the Eastern Shore, when she saw the posting for our position. She comes to Kent with the strongest recommendations from colleagues at Notre Dame who said Tracey is ‘bright, dedicated, and mission-oriented – the best of the best.’ I look forward to welcoming Tracey to our campus in July.

In the Development Office, Karen Pupke has been named the Director of Development and Alumni Relations. Karen will join the administrative team in August. Karen, like Tracey, is also moving to Chestertown this summer from New York City where she is currently the Head of Learning Resources for Grades K-12 at the Chapin School. Karen has also served as a Middle School Learning Specialist at The Town School. Karen is an experienced educator who has collaborated with the advancement offices at both schools to serve on admissions committees, chair annual funds for employees, and secure grants for the learning resources department.

Mugele continued, “I have been trying for several years to bring Karen Pupke to Kent School and I am delighted that she will be taking on this role. Like Tracey, Karen comes to Kent School with the highest praise from colleagues saying ‘Karen’s thoughtful, perceptive style ensured that our program provided a warm, welcoming, supportive space for students, teachers, and parents.’ I believe these traits will help Karen excel in her new role at Kent School and I look forward to working together to advance Kent School. I am also excited about the experiences and opportunities that Tracey and Karen will bring to our administrative team and to the School community.”
