In April of 2021 photographer Steve Atkinson began a new photographic project, Chesapeake Country Roads. Now he is announcing the publication of a 16-month Wall Calendar of these photographs. Most of the photographs were taken in Kent and Queen Anne’s Counties.
The calendar can be purchased at the Website ChesapeakeCountryRoads.com/Calendar.
Even though he had been photographing the area for several years, it wasn’t until the recent announcement by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s “America’s Byways” of their designation of the Chesapeake Country All-American Road, that it occurred to him that he has been photographing sights along these roads. Especially the section between Chesapeake City and Kent Island.
The calendar is just one of the items that he plans to have available through this project. Already released are a set of 8 – 5×7 Greeting Cards. In 2022 he plans to publish a book of photographs that cover the original Chesapeake Country Byway, Chesapeake City to Kent Island.
