The Samaritan Group, Inc. will be opening their emergency winter shelter on January 2nd, 2022.
Volunteers are needed for overnight (9pm-8am) shifts to assist their paid staff.
Overnight volunteers can generally sleep during their shift but act as an on-call, “in case of emergency” helper for paid staff. Overnight volunteers have a private/separate sleeping area from the guests.
There are MANY openings available— especially for Mon, Tues, and Weds nights. The shelter operates out of Chestertown area churches from January thru March.
If you are interested in volunteering, please email: volunteersamaritankent@gmail.com for more information and to signup.
Thank you and Happy New Year!
