Jamie Peace was the Student Government Association President when he graduated from Kent School in 1993. Jamie returned to speak at Kent School after he came home from deployment in Afghanistan. The June 8, 2022 Graduation ceremony will mark his second appearance addressing the Kent School community since his own Graduation.
Jamie Peace most recently was an Operating Partner with Ames Watson, a private equity firm that focuses on corporate turnarounds in the retail and fashion sector.
Prior to Ames Watson, Jamie was the President and Chief Operating Officer of TSS, a technology-driven logistics company which provides solutions for companies moving sand from the mine to the wellsite.
Previously, Jamie worked at the well completions services company, FTS International, where he advanced from Business Development and Operations Associate to head of all North America completions.
Prior to his work in the oil and gas industry, Jamie served for nine years in the United States Marine Corps. In 2001, Jamie was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, and after completion of his training became an Infantry Officer. He then joined 1st Battalion, 1st Marines in Camp Pendleton from 2002-2005, deploying to the Horn of Africa, Sri Lanka, and Iraq as both a platoon commander and infantry company executive officer in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Jamie was later selected to join 3d Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan from 2005-2007, where he conducted two deployments with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit as the Deep Reconnaissance Platoon Commander, covering operations and training in South Korea, Australia, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
Finally, Jamie was selected to join 1st Raider Battalion, Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command from 2007-2010, where he served as a team commander for Delta Company deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Jamie’s commendations from the military include Basic Reconnaissance Course “Honor Graduate”; multiple Combat Action Ribbons; Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal; and two Navy Commendation Medals, including one with valor.
In June 2010, Jamie resigned from the Marine Corps as a Captain to pursue opportunities in the private sector. Jamie briefly worked as Program Manager for the inaugural Veterans on Wall Street symposium in 2011, a public-private partnership between Wall Street banks, employers, charity partners and the largest Veteran Support Organizations.
Following his 1993 graduation from Kent School, Jamie attended Woodberry Forest School. He holds a B.S. in English from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a dedicated supporter of The Cowtown Warriors Foundation, Prison Entrepreneurship Program, The Wharton School, Woodberry Forest School and Kent School.
