Christmas in Rock Hall begins in the Double Woods. If you aren’t from the Rock Hall area or are not familiar with it, you may be wondering what or where is Double Wood.
The Double Woods is a stretch of road on MD 20, south of Fairlee, in Kent County Maryland, between Sandy Bottom Rd. and Ricauds Branch Rd. There’s woods on both sides of the road in this area and has earned the nickname “Double Woods”.
Most of the year you have to watch for wildlife, especially deer.
The magic starts on Thanksgiving night when Double Woods comes to life with the magic of Christmas. The elves will be busy putting up Christmas decorations. Last year they hung Santa’s suit to dry in preparation of his yearly trip. Wonder if it’ll be back this year?
This tradition has been going on for quite a few years, and has grown each year. If you are close by, you should take a day time drive to see the magic. While you are out and about, drive on down to Rock Hall to visit the many small shops, locally owned stores and restaurant
I can’t wait to see the decorations the elves put up this year. all the beautiful decorations. And as I have many years I will stop and photograph the magic.
