Chestertown, MD
Main Street Historic Chestertown (MSHC) is urging donors to act quickly to take advantage of their remaining allocation of $14,250 in Maryland state tax credits before they expire at the end of 2024. These tax credits offer donors a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution while receiving a 50% tax credit for donations of $500 or more—but they must be used before time runs out.
The Community Investment Tax Credits (CITC), awarded by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, are available until the end of December 2024. Donors who want to support MSHC’s efforts to promote tourism and enhance Chestertown’s downtown area are encouraged to take advantage of these credits while they last.
Main Street Historic Chestertown is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to fostering an inviting, diverse, and prosperous downtown. This year’s tax credits will help fund key projects like the Chestertown Visitors’ Guide, regional ads, and events such as the Chestertown Car Show, Tea Party Block Party, and Dickens of a Christmas.
“These tax credits are a great incentive for our supporters, but the clock is ticking,” said Kristen Owen, President of the Board of Main Street Historic Chestertown. “We encourage donors to act soon to make the most of this opportunity before the credits expire at the end of 2024.”
Don’t wait—contact the MSHC office at 410-778-2991 or email assistant@mainstreetchestertown.org today to make your donation and claim your tax credits before they’re gone!
