CHESTERTOWN, MD
Kent School will host its 10th annual Empty Bowls benefit on Friday, November 13, at 6:00 p.m., bringing together students, families, and the community to support local families experiencing food insecurity.
A beloved Kent School tradition, Empty Bowls gives students an opportunity to combine creativity with compassion while making a meaningful difference in their community. Every student from Preschool through Grade 8 is creating a handcrafted ceramic bowl for the event. With the purchase of a bowl for $10.00, guests can choose from a variety of homemade soups to enjoy. All proceeds benefit the Kent County Food Pantry.
The Empty Bowls project offers students a hands-on way to learn about hunger in their community and the importance of helping others. Through the process of designing and creating their own ceramic bowls, students contribute to a collective effort that demonstrates how even small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. In addition to the Empty Bowls project, students are also engaged in a food drive, coat drive and diaper drive to benefit families in the community.
Now in its 10th year, the benefit reflects Kent School’s ongoing commitment to fostering kindness, service, and community engagement. The event also provides an opportunity for families and friends to support an important local resource while taking home a one-of-a-kind piece of student artwork.
Community members are invited to attend, purchase a handcrafted bowl, enjoy homemade soup and help Kent School make a difference for neighbors in need.
