Julia Portmann – Shorewoman of the Week

Senior swimmer Julia Portmann (Palatine, Ill./William Fremd) is this week’s Shorewoman of the Week. Portmann finished in the top eight in three individual events at the Centennial Conference Championships over the weekend.

Portmann placed fifth in the 1650 freestyle in 17:45.45, seventh in the 500 freestyle in 5:13.55, and eighth in the 200 freestyle in 1:58.55. She also swam on the Shorewomen’s fourth-place 800 freestyle relay, fifth-place 400 freestyle relay, sixth-place 400 medley relay, and seventh-place 200 freestyle relay.

This is Portmann’s 10th career Shorewoman of the Week honor.

Andrew Feeley – Shoreman of the Week

Sophomore swimmer Andrew Feeley (Baltimore, Md./Towson) is this week’s Shoreman of the Week. Feeley won gold in the 200 backstroke for the second consecutive year at the Centennial Conference Championships.

Feeley’s winning time of 1:49.52 in the 200 backstroke broke his own school record and was an NCAA Division III Championship provisional qualifying time. He also placed seventh in the 100 backstroke in 52.19 after swimming a 51.82 in the preliminaries to become the Shoremen’s second fastest swimmer ever in that event and placed 14th in the 200 individual medley in 1:57.22. In relays, Feeley swam on the Shoremen’s fifth-place 400 freestyle relay, sixth-place 400 medley relay, and seventh-place 200 freestyle relay.

This is Feeley’s third career Shoreman of the Week honor.
