When I first began Local in Kent, MD as a way to share information and events it was as a Website. The Facebook (FB) page came soon afterward. During the past 10 years the FB page has grown. In early 2018, due to a technical issue the LocalinKent Website disappeared. At the same time I developed the Arts and Entertainment News site ChesaDel Crier.
After a few months, and determining that there were postings for Kent County on the ChesaDel Crier that really didn’t fit its mission, I created the Kent County Crier. I kept the Kent County Crier going for several months, but haven’t posted anything here for quite awhile. May of 2019 to be exact. FB again became the focus for What’s Happening Local in Kent, MD.
In December due to a small health issue, I have had plenty of time to think and recall conversations I had with people during the Summer of ’19 as I was photographing events. I have been asked a few timeswhere they could find the photos I take at events. When I mention FB, often I hear ‘I don’t use FB’.
Even though viewing information on FB isn’t that much different that viewing a Website, you don’t always need to have a FB account to view pages there, people still won’t go to FB.
As 2020 begins, I have decided to bring back the Website Kent County Crier. Also returning is the Photo of the Week, which will be posted each Sunday Morning.
Thank You
Steve Atkinson
Note:
There are many events and activities that I don’t hear about until after it’s over. I can’t spread the news about an event, nor can I even schedule to attend, if I don’t know about it.
