Safe Harbor Great Oak Landing Seeks Dockmaster and Assistant Dockmaster

Safe Harbor Great Oak Landing is a large resort marina located on the Chesapeake Bay in Chestertown , Maryland. We are a full-service marina with 350 fixed and floating slips, ABYC certified technicians, a 75-ton Travel lift able to launch and haul vessels up to 80’ in length and beams of up to 31’. Our facilities include a luxury inn with pool, a fine dining restaurant, a bayfront beach with a popular beach bar, plus our own golf course and more. We are a member of Safe Harbor Marinas, the nation’s largest network of quality marinas and boat yards.

Currently at the Marina we are actively recruiting to fill two critical positions: Dockmaster and Assistant Dockmaster. These positions would constitute outstanding opportunities for individuals intending to build a rewarding career in the recreational marine industry.

The Dockmaster is responsible for overall Marina operation and slip activity, and is the principal person with whom Members or guests interact. The Dockmaster is responsible for safe mooring and fueling of vessels, general operation of the docks, assisting boaters, maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the Marina, and supervising up to five individuals.

The Assistant Dockmaster is responsible for working with the Dockmaster to ensure the safe mooring and fueling of vessels, general operation of the docks, assisting boaters, and maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the Marina facilities. The Assistant Dockmaster will assume the Dockmaster’s duties in the latter’s absence.
