If it’s the 1st of January, it’s time for the Rock Hall VFC Big Dip Fundraiser.
Weathering the light rain, the Big Dip went on as scheduled. Everyone got a little wet, those that rain into the Chesapeake Bay more than those on shore. The water was a little colder than the air at around 15 degrees. It was nearly 60 at noon.
This year Mayor Dawn Jacobs and Police Chief Bill Dempsey after being goaded into it by Jack Bigelow, who joined them, went into the bay up to their knees.
The Fundraiser brought in more than $700 for the Fire Company, which include over $300 to coax Police Chief Dempsey to wade in.
